Farhad Fakhrian born in Abadan in 1962. His father worked in Abadan Oil Refinery , and this is why he and his wife, when were Isfahani, went to Abadan and their 2 children born there.

Farhad loved technical matters from childhood and this cause him to be curious about devices and instruments.

He confronted with camera, when he was five and it was brilliant point in his life , which affected in his future strongly. The camera which was a Fujica Half, was bought by his father and it became the greatest mystery of his childhood.

When he was 8 took his first pictures without any teacher or instructor. By 10 he took his first color photos with Agfa CNS negatives and when he was 12 developed his B&W negatives and in 16 he printed his first B&W print and all of these were without teacher so far.

He entered a Isfahan technology institute after passing primary and intermediate schools and got his diploma in Auto mechanics in 1980.

After 3 years delay for cultural Revolution, he was among the first entries of Photography Course at Art University in 1983.

He spent his Photography units with several masters such as Hadi Shafaeih, Abdolali Zekavat , Yahya Dehganpour, … but he says that 2 masters affected him more than others , Yahya Dehganpour in art of photography and Mohammad Khademian in Technical field.

He experienced Zone System Exposure & Process and began Advertising photography in 1985.

In 1987 , he invited to teach Basic Photography to non-photography art courses in Art University and also Azad university, before he get his BFA.

By the year of 1989 he graduated from Art University .

During these years he continued Nature and Advertising Photography and also teaching photography in both Art Univ. and Azad Univ.

1994 was the year which he passed the examination with Grade 1 for graduate level of Photography in Art Univ.

He finished this level in 1998 MFA Degree and became full time a faculty member of Photography Department in Azad Univ. in the same year in 2004 he also invited to be part time faculty member of Photography & Graphic Design Department of Fine Art Faculty in Tehran University.

He has been jury of many photography Festivals and contests, participate in many group photo exhibitions , have had one individual exhibition, has written many essays in photo magazines and two books of photography lessons.
